Eaton Canyon Golf Course-Pasadena, CA

Description:

This course plays up and down the hills. There is a flood control channel that comes into play on five holes, including #3, a 164-yard, par 3, which requires golfers to hit over the channel to reach the green. The fairways generally slope from left to right. Great views of the San Gabriel Mountains are offered from just about anywhere on the course. The greens are slightly sloped, but some are really undulating. The course has many old and large trees that can affect your shots. The wind kicks up in the afternoon, coming through the canyon, making proper club selection an important aspect of the game. There is an additional set of ladies' tees that can be used when playing an eighteen hole round.

Santa Anita-Arcadia, CA

Description:

Santa Anita is located just up the street from the famous horse racing track that shares the same name. This scenic course is situated just below the majestic San Gabriel Mountains. However, since the natural surrounding terrain is flat, man-made mounding was added to create many uneven lies. Mature pine and oak trees line each of the narrow fairways. Although there are no water hazards (with the exception of a flood control channel that play as out-of bounds), there are many strategically-placed sand bunkers. Additionally, this course's large greens are sloped. One of the most difficult holes on the course is #18, a 435-yard, par 4, which requires a massive tee shot over some large mounds up a dogleg right fairway, then a long approach shot to the green. Senior discounts are also available, but only with an L.A. County Seniors Card. The driving range is lit during the week only.

San Dimas Canyon Golf Course-San Dimas, CA

Description:

San Dimas Canyon Golf Course is an 18 hole facilty open to the public 365 days a year. At 6,400 yards San Dimas Canyon Golf Course offers a challenge to players of all skill levels. The golf course consists of five par 3's (3 of which play over 200 yards) and five par 5's that are reachable in 2 shots, but don't let this fool you, as there is a large amount of risk vs reward associated with these holes. Water hazards come into play on 4 holes with out of bounds opportunties present on 10 of the 18 holes.
The golf course runs along the base of the San Gabriels amongst the native California Oak and other natural vegetation. Deer, bobcat, and coyote often frequent the golf course as this is testament to the true rural back to nature setting of the the golf course. San Dimas Canyon Golf Course's fairways are tree lined and require a well placed tee ball to have a shot to the green, where the the real challenge lies. The greens are gently undulated and the hillside slope definately influences the the roll of the ball.
